Hi all! Let me introduce myself, I am Sammi Jo, owner of SJ Farm. I have spent my entire life in the animal training world. I grew up on a horse and cattle ranch, where I trained horses, dogs and many other farm animals. Wildlife rehab allowed me to also work with a wide variety of wild animals including deer, elk, birds of prey, badgers, and more. While I often trained other people's animals from a very young age, I was about 16 when I started being a full time professional trainer. Since then there has been many amazing animal adventures including huge film sets, leading camel safaris in Texas and Montana, and training exotic animals like bears, zebras, camels, and lemurs. I am also pasionate about my dressage horses. My main competition horse, Gunner has won 6 National Championships so far. I am dedicated to continuing to expand my knowledge and skills every day. The day I stop learning is the day I stop living.
In 2008, I found the Farm, it was a 10 acre trash heap with layers of falling down fences buried in brush, a severely neglected house and completely overgrown with brush and vines. I immediately fell in love with it. I could see beyond the neglect that the property was perfect for me. With a lot of hard work and TLC, I picked up over 10 tons of garbage, cut back the brush, remodeled the house and built new fences. Each year I add a bit more, like my koi pond and water garden.
